How to connect my neon music account to sonos app
Use this article to connect a Sonos player to your Neon Screens account. Follow the steps in order.
Before You Start
Make sure you have the following ready:
- A Sonos Speaker or sound system. It must be connected to your Wi-Fi network and set up.
- The Sonos App. It must be installed on your mobile device. It must connect to the same Wi-Fi network as your Sonos Speaker.
- Your Neon account and location must already be set up.
- Access to the Music section of the Neon Screens Dashboard.
Note: If you do not have Neon Dashboard or Music section access, contact the admin of your Neon account within your company for help with these steps.
Step 1: Start the Music Player Setup
- In the Neon Screens Dashboard, go to the Music section.
- Click Add.
- Select Add Music Player.
Step 2: Enter the Music Player Details
- In the Add Music Player menu, click the Device Type dropdown.
- Select Sonos.
- Enter a name in the Music Player Title field.
- Click the Location field. Select your location from the list.
- Do not close the menu yet! We will return to it shortly to complete setup.
Step 3: Add Neon as a Content Service in the Sonos App
- Open the Sonos App on your mobile device.
- Go to the Your Services section.
- Tap Manage.
- On the Content Services page, tap Add Content Service.
- Search for Neon.
- Select Neon Screens from the results.
- Tap Add to Sonos.
Step 4: Copy the Household ID
The next screen shows a code. This code is your Household ID. It starts with "Sonos_".
- Copy the full Household ID.
- Do not tap Authorize yet.
- Go back to the Neon Screens Dashboard. The Add Music Player menu should still be open.
- Paste or type the Household ID into the Household ID field.
- Click Add Music Player.
Step 5: Assign a Playlist to the Player
- In the Neon Screens Dashboard, go to the Library tab in the Music section.
- Find the playlist(s) you want to use under My Music Playlists.
- Hover over the playlist. Click the action button (⋮).
- Select Edit.
- In the Update Playlist drawer, scroll to the bottom of the left panel.
- Keep the Manual Selection option selected.
- Click the Select Players dropdown.
- Select the music player you created in Step 2.
- Click Update.
Step 6: Complete Authorization in the Sonos App
- Go back to the Sonos App.
- Tap Authorize.
- A confirmation page will open. It will show a green check mark and the message "You are authenticated."
- Go back to the Sonos App.
- Follow the remaining prompts to finish the setup.
When setup is complete, Neon will appear as a service under Your Services in the Sonos App.
Step 7: Play Your Music
- In the Sonos App, tap the Neon logo.
- A list of playlists assigned to your player will appear.
- Select a playlist or song to begin playback.
