TCL Digital Signage Screen Setup Instructions

A step-by-step guide to configuring a brand new TCL display.

 Part 1: Initial Setup Wizard
  1. Language
    • On the "Welcome to TCL Digital Signage" screen, select English (or the appropriate language for the site).
  2. Connect to Internet
    • On the "Connect to Internet" screen, choose Wired network if an ethernet cable is run to the unit.
    • If no wired connection is available, select the client's Wi-Fi network, or choose Skip if internet is not needed yet.
  3. Privacy & Agreements
    • Click Accept to agree to all agreements (User Agreement, Privacy Agreement, UX Improvement Plan).
  4. Check for Updates
    • Select Check for updates if connected to the internet, so the unit is running the latest firmware.
    • If not connected, or if you want to finish setup quickly, select Skip.
  5. Time Zone / Time
    • Confirm the Time zone matches the site location.
    • Confirm Date and Time are correct.
    • Set Date Format and Time Format as needed (default M/D/Y, 12-hours).
    • Select Confirm.
  6. The screen will show "All done!" and automatically enter the system after a few seconds.
Part 2: Picture Settings
  1. From the Home screen, open Settings.
  2. Select Image.
  3. Under Image effect, change the setting from Standard to Bright.
    • This enhances contrast and better restores image detail, especially useful for retail/restaurant display environments.
Part 3: Startup Source Configuration
  1. From Settings, select General.
  2. Select On/off setting.
  3. Find Startup (currently set to Home).
  4. Change Startup from Home to HDMI1. (Or the input the media player is inserted into)
    • This ensures the screen boots directly into the HDMI1 input source instead of the TCL home/launcher screen.
